This post caused me so much grief that I almost deleted it.  I have written posts attacking mega companies like Darden and Groupon with less reaction.  I have written posts going after TV stars and major TV networks with less reaction.  I have written posts calling  out my boss (at the time) with less reaction.  This is the one that got me in trouble and is still something that is not discussed with some of my best friends.
In a time when The Hospitality Formula Network was nothing more than a drawing on a piece of paper, this was posted on my original “TipsForTips” blog. Â At that time I was happy to get 100 page views a day. Â I posted this late one Friday night before I went to bed. Â When I woke up, I already had over 100 views. Â It just kept climbing. Â By early afternoon it was up to 250. Â By 3pm, I starting getting texts warning me that some people were wanting to talk to me when I got to work.
I walked in the front door and got a death stare from the hostess (who was dating a server).  A cocktail server (who was dating a server), started giving me the silent treatment.  Her boyfriend couldn’t even respond because he was so upset (this guy was a college debater and now a successful attorney).  All those page views were coming from my restaurant.  Most of my co-workers didn’t even know I had a blog before this and now it was a hot topic of conversation throughout the building.  A manager even commented to me, “Wow, you really managed to  get everyone pissed off at you.”  By the time I got home, I had over 1000 page views.
Then the comments came. Â The post is interesting, but the comments are EPIC.
It was meant to be part of an ongoing point-counterpoint series on the blog. Â Senor Esparza and I were going to take opposite sides of issues to debate them on the weekend posts. Â In this case we both took extreme positions to spark debate. Â I think intellectually most people would agree with my side. Â I didn’t think so many people would take personal offense to it. Â Now that the smoke has settled and all the people who were originally offended are either broken up or married, I will let you read the post and decide for yourselves. Â Here is why I feel you should not date co-workers.
